Revêtements de tennis de table
The rubber is the playing surface glued onto a blade. It wears with use and is replaced from time to time. Rubbers are sold as single sheets, so a racket needs two, and the two sides do not have to match.
Most players use inverted (pimples-in) rubbers for spin and speed. Short pips suit hitting and blocking close to the table, and long pips are for a deliberately disruptive game. Sponge hardness is the next choice: a soft sponge is more forgiving, a medium sponge is the all-round middle, and a hard sponge rewards a full, fast stroke. Each brand measures hardness on its own scale, so compare degrees within a brand. Thinner sponges give control, thicker ones give power. You will also need glue to fit them and cleaner to look after them.
